February 2022 Update

I’m a little late with my February post. Nothing like a 12-week-old who seems to have her days and nights confused to challenge everything about life. Especially organization and time management. Arguably, not two of my strengths. Did I mention the sleep deprivation?

But who can stay mad at this little face?

My exciting news this month is that the preorder campaigns are live for the anthologies containing my work. So thrilled to finally hold my words in my hands, surrounded by other great stories!

This Séance Fiction anthology features 14 stories about spiritualism within the realms of steam punk and science fiction. My story, FLICKER, is about a fortune-stealing medium.

As of 2/9/2022, there are just under 200 copies available, and once they’re gone, they are gone. It’s estimated that the books will be shipped out to eager readers in May 2022.

Preorder from Kickstarter or on the Air and Nothingness Press website.

Heroes features 14 stories about our favorite heroes reimagined in new, exciting ways. In my story, THE FORESTA PIETRIFICATA, Prisca must confront a monster that petrifies its victims with a single glance to save her mother.

The anthology releases on 3/31/2022.

Preorder your paperback or hardback editions on the Lost Boys Press website.

I love short fiction, because you have a finished product in a few weeks as opposed to a novel that takes a few months (if anything is ever really finished). Submitting to these awesome anthologies really reintroduced me to my love of writing after the epic burnout in Summer 2021. If you’re not ready to commit to a 150,000 epic fantasy that might take a year just to worldbuild, a short story might be just what you need!

Anthologies are also great for readers–you get a shorter selections from several different authors. If you fall in love with someone’s writing, you can check out whether they have longer works available. Win-wins all around.

So, check out the books published by these two presses. You’ll find lots of talented up and coming writers.
